Black oranda
Okay well today i went to my local petstore and this guy
runned out of the store and said here you go.

It was a female guppy that was going to have babies!

So i was like is it free, and his like yes.

rolleyes.gif So i just couldn't say no so i was like thank you so mutch
and took it.

I went home with him wondering were i would put her.
I ended up putting her into my 10 gallon with 1 commet
and 1 common.
The goldfish are about 2 inchs long.

They didn't try to eat him yet or nibble at all.

She has a black spot by her anal area so im not sure what to do

Im sure she is going to let out her babys soon.
So what do i do?

I have a jar that i can put the mom and her babies in......

Not sure so have any ideas?
Kev
she will eat the babies, and also wont let them out unless she feels safe, so i suggest finding somewhere more suitable, a tank of her own maybe ?
Black oranda
blink.gif ummmm i have 3 tanks......

one 25 gallon with 4 of my goldies (i know im over stocked)
One 10 gallon the one she is in .... with the 1 small commet and common
And i have one 5 gallon that has a betta in it.
Kev
the betta tank is heated right ?
Black oranda
Yes it is.
Kev
put her in there, and possibly temp rehome your betta untill u can get a breeding trap
once she has had her babies, she will need to be moved from them also, as she will eat them
Black oranda
Thank you biggrin.gif

Why not just put a divider in the 5 gallon? Then the betta can still have his home, just half of it and the guppy can have half of it. Then you can move the fry after they hatch. Some male bettas and guppies get along just fine, especially with the female guppies because they aren't as flashy. The betta will eat the guppy fry if he manages to catch them though.

Alexander, did your guppy have babies yet?
Black oranda
Nope, im not sure why.....
she has that black dot where her anal area is,but no babies.

i don't want to take out any of my bettas space,Im very stricked
with that rule.I want him to be very happy in a nice
and big Aquarium.

UPDATE ON GUPPY!

She seems to be actually hanging out with the goldfish.
And she swims around with them all the time.
Hopefully she doesn't think that she is a goldfish rofl3.gif

I'm afraid your guppy should be in a warmer tank than the goldie tank. I keep my livebearere tank at 80, my goldie tank at 74 (farenheit). What temps are your tanks?
Black oranda
Well that 10 gallon tank is my one of my only tank that is
Heated.

I usally leave my Aquarium light on for about 8 to 9 h

Not sure....
I wake up, and i turn it on.
And some times i would leave the light on over night.

I do not have a heater for the tank or else i
would bake my fish, with the heat of the light it is alright.

I would say about 80 maby 82.

Great... I have sexually confused goldfish, and you have a guppy that thinks she is a goldfish! What is this world coming to?
Kev
m8 your guppy will die if she keeps getting fluctuating temps, she need a consistent temp, the light does not provide this, and if she does let her babys go, you will never seem them unless you look inside your goldies !

im not sure why some people ask for help and then dont take the advice !

i dunno why i bother Thud.gif
Black oranda
ohmy.gif/.....?
Black oranda
So far i didn;t get the best advice.....
I usally got lots of people repeating.
I don't think that my female guppy would go well with my betta.
And i really don't want to put a divider.
Or put him into a jar.

But please keep in mind that my 2 goldfish are going to
be moveing into a pond in about 2 months.
After i move.

So she will not be in the Aquarium with the goldfish for ever.

thats good then smile.gif
Black oranda
Im hopeing so smile.gif

I have an incandescent sp hood on my 10 gal. Is that what you have Black Oranda? Mine heats the water, and the temperature does not fluctuate. My tank will hit 80 quite easily, so I think you should be ok in the warmth department.

Good luck

Jessica
Kev
and when the light is off ?

your fish might not go well with your betta, but she certainly does not go well with goldfish !
Black oranda
ohmy.gif?????? i never had her in with the goldfish.
She has her own 5 gallon.

Since my 2 goldfish are going into a pond soon Athlina (Guppy)
should have the Aquarium for her self and ill
probly get her a friend of course.

Jess I think it is.
It heats up the water very fast!
