same as other fish, but you have to give them algae wafers unless you have enough algae built up for them to live on. What sort of fish live in the tank right now?

The only algae eater that I know of that's well-suited to life w/ goldies is the oto (Otocinclus affinis). Others will get all aggressive on your goldies... some will even try to suck the slime coat off your goldfish.
