after hours of searching, i finally found out what the spotted fish are! they are Ctenopoma acutirostre, otherwise known as leopard bushfish, leopard ctenopoma, or spotted climbing perch. for anyone who is interested, here's the link:

That's my article you linked to. I saw a bunch of entries from this site on my traffic log so I figured I'd stop in. B)

That's a nice looking Ctenopoma you have. Probably the most important thing with them is having good plant cover and hiding places. (Which it looks like you do.) If they feel secure they'll be great additions to the tank. I guess when you look like a leaf it pays to hang out around leaves! smile.gif

they were about $6 each, but once again, something that needs to be researched as they were sold mislabeled. the article i linked to is a good one regarding these fish and where they come from and what they need. they can reach, get this, TEN inches!!! and live about 20 years! sound familiar? definitely space needing fish! i'm going to have to upgrade these guys at some point in time in the future!

i used 2 hav 1 wit my archerfish a year ago... they can be agressive towards peaceful fish cuz he alwayz used to nip at him. other than dat theyre good fish 2 have..
