SINCE THE SALT TREATMENT HAS STARTED... HOW LONG DO YOU THINK IT WOULD TAKE FOR THE SCALES TO COME BACK ON THE WHITE ORANDA??? THEY LOOK LIKE THEY HAVEN'T STARTED GOING BACK YET... THEY HAVE BEEN SWIMMING IN THEIR SALT WATER FOR THREE DAYS NOW.. THE RED ORANDA IS HAVING OUT BREAKS OF WHITE SPOTS. BUT BOTH FISH LOOK HAPPY AND EATING WELL.... THANKS STACY

WelL I'm not Happy Goldfish, but I do know that it usually takes a couple of weeks for a scale to grow back in perfect water conditions. My Oranda is a studmuffin and is constantly scraping a scale off on something chasing the ladies.

If I were you I'd do a water change now - but then again - I am not a salt person
The white spots - do you think they are ich or fungus> Are they likes grains of salt or like fluffy fuzzy stuff? Are the flashing at all? Scraping against objects in the tank?
What was the salt treatment for? To get the scales to grow back?
It usually takes a while for the scales to grow back and sometimes, they don't grow back. My old comet lost scales from bad water params and never got all of them back.

How is your ammonia level? Try to keep it as close to 0 as you can while you're treating. Anything over 1ppm at your pH and you're stressing/harming your fish.
Just to be sure, you haven't done a water change since you started adding the salt? Remember, if you do change some water, you have to replace the salt (1T for every gallon you remove) otherwise there won't be enough in the tank to treat the ich.
When you said they're developing white spots, I assumed you meant ich spots. Did you, or do they look like something else? If they're ich spots, don't worry too much - it'll look worse the first couple days after you start treatment. They should start diminishing now.
The scales will take some time to grow back, and probably won't until you can get rid of the ich and keep the water quality good for some time. If they're not losing any *more* scales, that is a good sign.
Keep me posted!

happy goldfish they are looking great!!!!! did some water change last night and than replaced the salt... they are happy and eating well..... so far so good...thanks stacy!!! I have been adding 3t per gallons cause that is what we said earlier back from the other topic cause we did 10 teaspoons first treat, 10 t after 12 hours, than 10t 12 hours later.. so if I replace 1 gallon I have to add 3tper gallon for a ten gallon tank...

Glad to hear they're doing alright.

1T=3t (T=tablespoon, t=teaspoon), so 1T per gallon or 3t per gallon - same thing! You're doing everything just perfectly. Keep it up.
