my poor gold fish fatso is dieing she has gona blind in one eye
and there is this whitish stuff on her body that is eating her fins
now she is lying on her sind & just sitting there breathing
we have epsan salts in the bucket will this help?
or should i give up?

i dont no if the salts will work because she/he sounds quite bad mybe some one els can help but i hope your fish will come back good luck fishy

Finny, sorry to hear about your fishie!! Whitish how? In speckles like grains of salt, or tuffy/fluffy and a little raised? I will put this in the disease section, where there is even more help for you!

Hey finny, sorry to hear about your fish.

Epsom salts are not ideal - regular cooking, sea or aquarium salt would be better. I would change the water in the bucket and replace it with fresh water at the same temperature as the old, and add 2 teaspoons of the new salt.

As Ranchugirl said, can you tell us a bit more about the white stuff on the fish?

it is a bit like white snow flakes
we took her to the doctor's & he game us some
medication that should kill the fungus
she is looking alot better but she is still on her side
i hope she is not brain dead
she is such a friendly fish i hope she gets better soon.

Is she eating at all?

no she isn't but good news she is up & swimming around abit

but my other goldie finny ins't eating becouse he is stresed about fatso since they're m8's

Did you move Fatso to another tank? Maybe you should think about doing that...

no we put the meds in & she come back with in 2 houres

If you have another small tank, maybe you should put Fatso in it and medicate him in the "hospital" tank. That way, your other fish won't become as stressed out.

Have you checked your water quality?
