I just moved my two moors into the new 29 gal... I left my pleco to do cleanup... What I wanna know is when I'm ready to move the pleco, can I feed it at night? There's no algae in the new tank yet, but I DO have pellets for it. But when I drop a piece in the tank, the moors gobble it up. So I was thinking that if the pleco was nocturnal, then I could feed him whilst the moors were blind... any suggestions?

Quite a few plecos are nocturnal so it's worth a try. What type of pleco is it?
The other thing you can do is feed the moors first and when they are full, then drop in the pleco's pellets for him.

Is a goldfish ever really full?

Ya. I was just gonna say theyre NEVER full!!! Hungry little buggars... But I have the pleco in the 10 gal, and he doesnt seem one bit interested in the pellet... dunno...

Also I dont really know exactly what type he is... got him at wally world... guess just your average wall hugger... plecostomus or something like that... ya I think that's it

You can also put the plec's food in a place where the goldies can't get it- such as under the overhang of an ornament or something

I think you should feed him at night after the moors are sleeping.

Ya I had been feeding him at night, but he doesnt seem too interested... guess he still is full from all the algae... I'm still gonna experiment. And the moors will find food where I wouldnt think possible!!! heh.
anyway thanks for your suggestions and any more would be appreciated!!

I wouldn't put the food under an overhang. Your moors could get stuck and die. That happened tome once. I wasn't home and a calico fantail swam under a piece of slate and couldn't get out. He ended up dead. So I would strongly warn against putting food in dangrous places
