I'm currently trying to cycle a new 30 gal fishless and read Chris Cow's article online. I have a few questions...On day one, I initially added 1 1/2 tsp of ammonia to obtain a reading of 5 ppm. On day two, I added another 1 1/2 tsp. On day three, I added Bio Spira, no ammonia. On day four, nitrites were at 0 ppm and ammonia was still at 5 ppm so I did not add any more ammonia. On day five, I noticed nitrites (0.25 ppm), but did not add any ammonia as the level was still at 5 ppm. On day six, the nitrites were at .5 ppm, ammonia 5 ppm, nitrates 10 ppm. I'm not sure I'm doing this right. Do I need to keep adding ammonia? I was thinking that I would add 1/2 the ammonia does as soon as I noticed the ammonia declining. Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I've honestly never done a fishless cycle yet, but I found this link on the old board, and thought it may be of some help.
