ok, my new oranda is very sick. I just bought him about a week and a half ago. He was in the 55 gallon with my other fish but i moved him to a ten gallon today. He stays at the bottem of the tank or floats at the top not moving. He wont eat now. His tail fins are frayed. His scales were sticking out yesterday but they arent now as much as they were. He also looks very thin. He looks bad. I bought some epsom salt so i can salt the tank but im not sure how to do it. can anybody help?

sounds like a form of internal bacteria, with dropsy..... raise temp a little, 1/8th a teaspoon of salt per 5 gallons and treat with maracyn 2 or another internal bacteria treatment,,,,, hope to have helped

Best of luck with your fish! sad.gif I would feed some medigold while you're at it, if you can get some. I am in Connecticut and have some on the off chance you are from here.

Also, it could be something that has already damaged your poor fishy internally, so remember you are doing the best you can, even he if doesn't make it! sad.gif

Can you force feed him at all? I have heard of people doing that with a syringe.
