My goldfish get
TetraExotic sinking ministicks for ornamental goldfish
TetraFin flakes
and Wardley shrimp pellets

are the fish getting good nutrition?
Also do certain foods help an oranda's hood to grow well?

Thanks
Luke Anderson
Those foods aren't exactly excellent. They all contain ethoxyquin, which is a harmful preservative (its a carcinogen, and a immune suppressant), and are high in poor quality carbohydrate sources. However they are ok if you can't get anything better, as long as you vary you fish's diet with fresh veggies, and things like frozen bloodworms smile.gif

Foods that are high in protein, and are high quality in general can help with the wen growing. Hikari lionhead is made especially for this purpose (it is a sinking pellet diet, that is great for all goldfish varieties) wink.gif

Are Hikari foods good for goldfish? I'm currently using Tetrafin Goldmedal and after hearing that I want to change. I keep mainly orandas.

Aside from progold, i've always felt Hikari is one of the best more easily available foods. I fed that with GREAT results before I switched to progold smile.gif

Oh,good. It's just that my fish won't touch progold.
