hey guys my fish spawned twice lately and the first batch of fry are about a halfinch long and teh 2nd batch is still eggform. they should hatch tomorrow. my pond is 2500gl and i have koi and goldfish in there, i was wondering when will i be able to tell if they are goldies or KOI? (when do the barbs appear visible?) please be a koi! please be a koi! please be a koi! lolol smile.gif

Well, at this point, its just a wild guess. With both varieties together, you might even get a goldfish/koi cross. It'll take a few months until the barbs will appear.
Congratulations, however, on the fry! How many koi do you have compared to the number of goldfish?

I'm in the same position.

I've got koi mostly, with a couple of shubs and goldies.

I too am hoping for koi this year.

By the time the babies are about an inch to inch and a half you should be able to see barbs...... gotta look close but if they are koi they WILL have barbs. smile.gif
