i was just wondering if you have too soak pellet foods for common and kois.
becuase you usually just throw in the pellets during feeding time in a pond and dont soak them? i soak mine for my fancy types(my orandas, ranhus and black moors) but i dont for my commons and comets because i thought its ok since they dont have squished organs like fany types.

is this true or should i soak them? ive been feeding them way for about 2 days now. i soaked the foods before for them and then i stopped should i go back to the i used it do it? wav.gif

its only because my comets and kois are big enough that

Koi, commons and comet have a different body shape than the fancies. They have more streamlined contures, and therefore their internal organs, including the swim bladder, are not cramped or deformed like the fancies. If you think about it, look at a ranchu, or a fat round ryukin, and imagine his organs in there. You can imagine, they must be pretty close together, cramped and in a lot of cases, deformed.
Neocropsies that have been done on diseased fish with swim bladder problems, have shown deformed or shrunken swim bladders in a lot of cases.
I soak my food for the fancies, but my koi and comets, no, they just get it the way it is. smile.gif
