Just set up my mothers tank a few hours ago.
Its a 16 gallon bow front. Eventually it will have plants.

I want to start her off with some easy plants.
Plants I intend to get her:
singapore moss
blyxa japonica
dwarf hairgrass
java fern
didiplis diandra
stargrass

At the moment she is pushing for angels. I said that if she really wants angels, she should only get one, but she wants a pair. No matter, what she is going to end up with an angels, but it all depends on my persuasive skills to bring the numbers down. I also feel she won't be able to keep one alive in such a small tank.

Anyways. Current test results are:

Nitrate-5.0
Nitrite-0
Ammonia-.25

I'm seeding it with a filter pad from my cycled 46 gallon. Hopefully it works.

Anyways. As for my 46 gallon. Its doing well, still undecorated. However I did through my old fake driftwood in there until I do something else with the tank. Bayou is doing well. He doesn't bother the catfish at all. In fact the catfish tends to scare him.

I'm considering sparsely planting the tank with some large strong species of plants, along with a little moss.

Something like:
ocelot Sword
singapore moss
java fern
didiplis diandra
anubias minima

Can't have nice ones, or delicate ones. Bayou would most likely destroy them.

Still haven't come across a driftwood that I truly loved.

I'm also thinking about getting either a pair of convicts, or a small school of rummy nose tetras.

Sounds good. How much space do angels need? I've never had any of those. I do have a 16 gal bowfront though--

Is this what yours looks like? I have 6 hatchetfish, 7 glofish, a swordtail and a UDC in there. I'd like some cories for the bottom as well but am probably overstocked already!

Yes, exact color as well.

Personally, I would give each angel fish 10 gallon, on any tank 18 inches high. That would mean one angel could fit in the 16 gallon. Thats just the way I feel from looking at their size and reading articles online.

Your tank doesn't look too stocked. As long as you have good filtration, I think you could have a few cories.
