Does anyone know where can I get parts for Eheim canister filter? The pump primer seems not working because I'm having difficulties get the water in the filter. And the pump button is very stiff. I spent 15 mins tried to get this thing start it, but disappointment.
Does anyone had the same problem with their eheims before?

Try
BigAlsUnder Parts > Canister/Eheim, you will see different parts for Eheim

I tried to disassemble the motor head yesterday and it seems the pump/motor are in one piece. I guess I need a replacement motor head for the filter. BigAls has one for a different model, its pretty expensive. I dont see one for 2028 tho.
Thanks for the link Fred.

They are tricky to get the hang of. Are you sure its broken? You have to pump the button for some time and the distance below the tank is very important. I find the water wont flow even a few cms lower than the recommended height.

My Eheim's primer button is stiff most all of the time, but it works just fine. I usually pump it about twice, plug it in, and it comes purring to life.

What is the recommended tank height? I have a 38G height tank, it is around close to 5 feet. I've tried to get this thing work for almost 15 mins, non stop of pumping. I could also hear the springs inside of the pump makes strange noises too.

Do you pump it while the filter is plogged in?

With the eheims, I think the higher GPH you go the higher the tank to filter level is. Don't quote me on that but I think so. I don't have that exact one you have. I have 4 Eheims and 2 sumps. They all are set to work from different heights. It says on the box the minimum/max height range to which they'll pump. If you are hearing strange noises then the water is not going through and the motor is just turning over. Could you try raising the whole filter up on a box or something and pump again until water is flowing and then lower it slowly?

I had a 2028 myself several yrs ago. Now I got this one from my friend. It's condition is really bad compare to the one I had. Also I never had to raise the filter up with mine on my 125G.
Anyway, I will try to raise it up while pump it. If it's still not gonna work, then I might just stick with my two OH power filters on my 38G. I think the 2028 is not suitable on a 38g anyway.
