I heard that these guys stay smaller than normal BN plecos, is that true?

I have not heard that. I have 4 of them, one female and three males. Two of my males are on the small size for an adult bn, but the third is closer to the 5 inch mark.

I have read about that somewhere before. But I never had one, so I am not sure if it's true.

Possibly my large male is just that, large. He is definitely around 5 inches long.
