I was ordering a few supplies from Foster & Smith. As I was looking thru the catalog I ran across algae scrapers. Then I saw the Kent algae scrappers!! WoW! Heck I decided to TREAT myself to one of 'em!! Since I have a big tank & spend most of my time up to my armpits I splurged on the extra long scrapper (35") A N D I ALSO got 2 stainless steal blades (it comes with a plastic one) A N D I also got the Pro-Scrapper.
My hubby teased the starch outta me for spending so much on "TANK WIPERS"!!
But WOW!! This is an excellent tool!! I can reach EVERY crevice of the tank! Plus the stainless blades are perfect...not like sharp razor blades..but they do a job on the algae without worrying about scratching the glass!
I did a big water change today & really cleaned the tank. Then I whipped out my my new trustee scrapper extradinaire!! The tank walls are now perfectly clear. I didn't realize that they were not clear until cleaning them with this tool. When my hubby came into the room later he mentioned that the tank was extra clear!!

Ok here's a couple pics. Hope you can tell that it is sparkling clear!!
(Please ignore "bubble ridden" background, I am experimenting & haven't gotten it just right..... YET!)

((ALSO ignore that they are having some STRANGE "meeting" in the corner??))

((Ooops, they apparently don't like to be photographed while AT these meetings!! So it broke up!!))

Well, the pictures REALLY don't do it justice! It looks like a sparkling glass cube, tho a REALLY BIG 'UN!!
Apparently even though I clean my tank weekly I was not NEARLY aware of the amount of ICKY STUFF on the walls! While I was using my new FAVORITE tool I was real surprised that I could scrap "slime" off of what LOOKED like clear glass!! WOW!

Wow Jeanna you have a squeaky clean tank there. I HAVE to have one of those scrapers!!!! I like the idea of non scratchy blades- very cool extras.
(You see

all that money Kent paid you to come on here and advertise..it was worth it for them

Wow, that sounds like a really nice scraper. My current favorite type is the all natural ones with fins that hang around and love cucumber treats.

We have two live tank scrubbers to spare, if anybody's interested....
I might just let Joy get one of those fancy scrapers, though.

@ Sebastian, If you have a fish tank and you have water in it........ you will eventually get some kind of algae growing unless you do 100% teardown water changes consistantly.
@ Jeana727, Your little orange LionHead (?) Ranchu (Sorry not sure of the variety of goldie) was the lookout for the "Human" while the rest of your fish were at the meeting. Take a look at the 3rd picture...... he looks like a lookout!
Your tank looks very nice by the way! I had looked at a tool very simular to the one you got, but the corners of the metal blade were sharp. I may have to check it out at Foster & Smith.

Wow, your tank looks great. I absolutely need to get a better scraper, although I am happy about finally getting some green algae on the back of the tank.
