I've got 14 little fry at one week old right now and I' so excited!  I know i can only keep 1 or maybe 2 at the most and the rest will have to go to our LFS, but I'm stoked anyway. They are currently in a breeding net in a 10gal (the filter is to strong for them but the tanks is live planted and cycled so i didn't want to take the filter out to put in a sponge filter). The father is Slim the funny shaped calico and the mom is Momo the white fantail. Cant wait to see how how they turn out, wish me luck.

congrats !!!!! they grow soooo fast !!!!! I would wait a week or 2 to let them swim free with a filter ....but what I did was took a bio sponge cut an X in the center and covered the intake tube and looped elastics to hold it inplace ..works great

Congrats! Our first fry are about 5 weeks old now... and you do have to be careful with filters, because they are not very strong swimmers.

When they eat up their yolk sacs, what do you plan to feed them? Our frybabies like frozen baby brine shrimp and frozen daphnia. They also love the live baby brine shrimp-- moving food.
