I'm looking to add some balloon mollies in my tank
Are they good with goldfish? Will my goldfish chase them? Will they nip at the goldfish fins etc? Are they coldwater ?

Mollies are tropical fish and it is not recomended to mix Goldfish and tropical fish. If you are wanting to add a smaller type of fish into your goldie tank then I think white cloud mountain minnows are the better option.
But this will also depend on the size of your goldies if they are really big goldies then I would be tempted to add anything other then Goldfish to the tank.

I had a common goldy in with tropicals for awhile, including a couple balloon bellies--one of the mollies chased the gf constantly and tried to peck at him. I had to separate them of course! Anyway, it was definitely a bad idea.

My brother in law has a balloon molly in his community tank and it really harasses the other fish, good choice with not getting one I think.
