I am sorry to say that everyone here in the fish hobby will tell you- goldfish do not belong in bowls. Not in 10 liter bowls, not in 3o liter bowls not in any bowls at all sad.gif

Each goldfish needs 10 US gallons of water. And a tank that has a dark background or at least some shade. Goldfish have no eyelids you see, they cannot close their eyes and become stressed in situations where they are watched from all glass sides in bright light. Goldfish are fish not ornaments. Fish like to swim and should be allowed and able to swim in straight lines not in circles.

I hope you can find a large tank very soon for beautiful Betty smile.gif

welcome to koko's .. biggrin.gif ..I'm gonna start off by suggesting to put betti in a rubbermaid tub instead of a bowl asap if possible that bowl is waaay to small and will become toxic fast..be sure to condition the water and temp match ..when you buy a tank keep in mind 1 fancy goldfish needs 10 gallons PER fish no matter what the guy says at the local fish store ..you will also need a filter a goldfish is a very dirty fish and needs lots of air and filtration ..here is a link to the nitrogen cycle ..post back with any questions ..oh I personally do not use gravel most here have barebottom or use riverrock gravel is a potential choke hazard

Do you mean spitting out? It should not be too small that she can swallow it. Perhaps she is just having a look through the gravel, fish will turn it over a bit and hunt around- keeps 'em busy smile.gif
Betti
yes she is spitting it all over the bowl.
they are bit-big to her mouth i think , but hope she survive the night.
anyway i also cut my hand as well i have crazy day....will inform you tomorrow.

many thanks,

The tank looks great! With your colorful background, you don't need much decoration in the tank. That means more room for fish to swim. fish.gif

Welcome to Koko's! You certainly will find a lot of information here!

One thing, if you want to start in one place, is the information on cycling the tank. That was the biggest problem I had when I first started.

Good luck with your fish. You have come to the right place! There are real goldfish lovers here! biggrin.gif

It can be usefull to use less gravel in the tank so the waste does not get trapped, it could give spikes when you're cycling. It is a lot easyer to gravel vacuum when there isn't much gravel (I'm speaking from experience, I had way to much in my small tank smile.gif .) Goldies love to dig in the gravel to search for food, as a compromis I use a layer of less then one stone of gravel thick. So the goldies can 'dig', there is no waste trapped and it is easy to clean for me. exactly.gif
Betti
thanks for that girls and boys ...
btw day after i decided to remove the sintetic wallpaper rolleyes.gif Betti didn't like it. and me too....

Tomorrow i'm going to buy plants and more toy's.

many thanks....
