Hello,

my tank got over run with the dreaded black hair algae a few months ago, which was a complete nightmare :|

i eventually resorted to steam cleaning and replacing substrate and decorations etc. but thats a different story

my question today is;

is there a cheap way to kill algae on new plants which are currently being quarantined in a tank with no fish??

i dont want to fork out on expensive treatments but wondered if there are any household products or similar which could kill the algae and not the plants, and no need to worry about any fish...

how do you quarantine your plants??

thanks!

In QT tank, you can overdose Flourish Excel to kill algae. For the long run, you need to keep everything in balance in order to control algae.

Take a look at it.
