I want to double check with you guys here before I really set this up.

Is it ok to put one 30g AND one 20g on a metal stand that was made for a 20g tank? Currently the metal stand is holding TWO 20g tanks. Not sure the extra weight of the 10g water would cause the collapse of the stand..

My wife is definitely worry about it and so do I. ..

Thanks

if the stand is made to support two 20 gal tanks, then it is not a good idea to put a 30 gal tank on the stand.

http://alysta.com/books/fishtank.htm

that link has common aquarium sizes, and their respective dimensions, weights, etc. empty and full.
the difference in weight in just that additional 10 gallons is about 120 lbs. not a good idea of the stand wasn't made to support that additional weight.

of course this is just my opinion.

I took a close look at the metal stand I have. All the connections was welled perfectly, but the stand seems a bit of thin compare to the stand for a 30g tank.

Well.. I really dont know what to do. I need to have my GF in a bigger tank, but at the same time the space is an issue. I also have this 20g planted tank which I can't get rid of it. Otherwise, I could put two GF in a 20g on the top of the stand, and one GF in a 20G tank at the buttom level of the stand.

I guess I need to keep three tanks running for a while ..

does a 30 gallon even fit on the stand? I personally wouldnt do it since its not made for the extra weight, maybe get a bigger stand for the bigger tank

I was going to add a piece of wood board (it was from my TV stand, the board is about 1" thick). So I cut it to the size of my 30g tank and ready to put it under the tank on the 20g tank. I guess I just might get a bigger tank for a safer bet.
