Ok, it is official. I'm Smilingfish and I am a tankaholic. help.gif

Began cycling our new 125 Sunday.
Transferred water from one of our 75 gallons & the rest conditioned water. Unfortunately our new RO arrived Monday & hasn't been installed. A single comet is in the tank as the sacrificial ammonia supplier. He was a feeder fish bought @ 6 months ago. He has already helped cycle a 65 gallon. He looks so lost in such a large empty tank. I keep wondering what he must be thinking.

I'll post pics once I get the photos uploaded tonight. Jig.gif

ooohhh you are going to be in a whole lotta trouble for not having pics rofl3.gif .....your comet probably thinks you released him into a lake!!!

Congrats on your new tank! You comet looks so tiny in there!
hi-d
wow I want a big tank !!!....very nice !!..I had to squint to see the fish biggrin.gif
cometgirl
That tank looks great, and huge! druel.gif My comet is only in a 20 gallon. He would go crazy for that much swimming space.

The fish look tiny in that last picture, and we are only seeing part of the tank!
Fishy Fish
Wow!! Thud.gif That's a big'n!! At first, the size of the stand that it's on is misleading! It looks like a 55 on a long counter. (to me, but probably not to everyone rolleyes.gif ) Then I saw the other things around it.. Gee whiz that's huge!
I almost didn't see the li'l fishy down in the shadows there! Is he in the other pics? I didn't see him.
I love the columns! It's going to be a beauty!! (The tank as well as the fish wink.gif )
Oh! I just saw another fish!! ohmy.gif How many are in there? Actually, I saw the shadow first, then the fish that it came from. biggrin.gif You'll be "filling" that tank up in now time! (okay - not as funny as your pun... but I tried. rofl3.gif )

Thank you for sharing!!

Debbie

It is sickly huge...but we got it cycled within 6 days. ohmy.gif Well, we had some help with added water from a fully cycled 75 gallon.
Fishy Fish
Wow - 6 days with just water from an established tank? post-4056-1113060392.gif Kinda puts a damper on the theory that the cycle is in the filter, not the water... Did you use any media from the other tank as well?

So just how many li'l fella's do you have in the big tank? biggrin.gif

Debbie
Petperson04
That's a huge GAZONKER of a tank! That would be so fun to plan out and stock..... rolleyes.gif

Good luck!

Actually you are correct. We had an used" filter in the tank so it had a kickstart although we plan to seriously upgrade it once we are truely up & running. Right now we are still debating what to put in it since we have several established tanks we do not want to divide or combine, 14 tanks now total. Upstairs in our den we have a empty 210 waiting for our floor to be reinforced. Yes, we have serious tank addiction issues... ill.gif

blink.gif Holy moley!! Are you SURE that' you're 5'7"??? That sucker is even huger... (more huge...?) than I imagined!!
You're going to need a ladder to clean it! No, wait... just some scuba gear! rofl3.gif And you have a FISH TANK ROOM!! Wow... that's some serious fish obsession. exactly.gif Can you post more pics of all of your tanks? Or do you have a thread somewhere that I haven't seen. rolleyes.gif

Wow... I'll be in awe of that picture all day! Wait!! You have a bigger one yet! I just remembered that you said that! Jeez... Are you putting in cement columns for support?? 210 gallons... Yes - scuba gear is in order here!! biggrin.gif

Did I mention... Wow....????

Oh Debbie thanks for the laughs! rofl3.gif
Yep, I am really only 5 foot 7, maybe a 1/2 inch more. And yes we have an aquarium room which is still a work in progress. On the right side we have 3-75 gallon tanks and on the left is the 125 with the cabinet not completely finished. The tank in the back of the room is our only marine tank @ 55 gallons, its counter top for its soon to be cabinet is propped up in front of it. The 4 smaller tanks pushed to the side include a hospital/QT, a very heavily planted tank with breeding guppies, a 20 gallon long with an electric blue jack dempsey, 5 corys my second heartpump.gif behind goldfish, & a weirdo catfish. My goldies tanks are upstairs in my study & and we have a built in 65 gallon tank in our den next to the fireplace for ying/yang--and of course it has a built in fan for needing cooling when the fireplace is going. The steel floor joists are on order for our home to help support the several ton 210 plus cabinet. Like my dad says..."When you get that monster up are you gonna watch those fish or swim with 'em?" lol.GIF
Somewhere on the computers I have pics of all the tanks. Maybe I can pull them together & do a photo spread. mr. smilingfish began the aquariums years ago as he was studying ichthyology(**insert "nerd" icon**). We made it our mutual hobby last year and its been extremely rewarding for both of us. smile.gif
Fishy Fish
Pardon me for repeating myself..

Wow!!! Thud.gif
But how wonderful that it's a hobby that you BOTH share!! I love that!! You don't have to do all of the work yourself, and you get to do it together! heartpump.gif

Isn't that a slang... to "swim with the fishies"??? unsure.gif We don't want that!!! Yes - just enjoy them! And I'm sure you'll do just that!!

Now... where are those pictures...??? rolleyes.gif

Debbie

Thanks!
2 comets & 10 Glo Lite Tetras. The tetras swim mid to high level, the comets stay closer to the bottom. The comets on the left...and tetras on the right.
Little Peanut
He looks so small compared to the tank
