So far ivce read on here that the general rule for aquariums is 10x the gallons in gph. But id like to know if the same goes for ponds?I have a approx 200 gal pond and i dont know if ive ever seen a 2000 gph pump?maybe im not looking hard enough, well i havent really looked at all i just thought the numbers were smaller, anyways, im obviously new to this lol. Will 2000 gph be too much for my pond?thanks

lol I have an 11,000 gph pump.

No you don't need a 10x turnover for a pond, but for that small a pond I would recommend at least a 2x turnover per hour, so at least a 400 gph pump. Stock lightly!

haha ok, thanks. I`ll look into some stuff.

A Penguin
most aquarium supply websites have a pond section, with pumps and filters designed just for pond applications. Some of those pumps can lift thousands of gallons of water per hour up to the tops of 10' waterfalls...

ok ive found one, it pumps 750 gph. i think thatll be enough!i wish i knew what the one i have now is..trhat way i could kinda have an idea of how fast a 750 is. anyways...i was gunna buy a test kit this weekend but i had to buy a 280 dollar fuel pump for my car, so the fishie stuff is just gunna have 2 wait(btw i got the pump for under 50 bucks brand new!!)
