I recently inherited a white fantail and i was wondering is it possible for him to grown a wen or is that jsut in some specific breeds???

I bought my orange oranda Murphy as a fantail. But a few months later she started growing a wen so I think she was just in a mis-labeled tank. So if the fish is really young there is a possibility it could be an oranda in disguise!

yep if you got a young fantail and it started growing a wen it was surely mislabled.which is not uncommon to happen ..when I was at wal~mart the other day the guy at the pet section said all goldfish are labled fancy goldfish ..and he trys to match up the fish to the picture on the tank.. ..and he said he knew nothing about goldfish...
