I have 2 male platies now I got a female she'll move in, in about a week...will they breed? And how big does the female need to b for her to have fry? I've never had a female before so i dont no anything about breeding lol, will they eat the fry?? Cuz i dont really want them to b eaten lol i guess i could use the breeding trap though......

If you have alot of hiding places..then you will get some fry..

or use a small tank to place the male and female in then after she gives birth move her out..

or i could put the female in the breedig trap when she's pregnant right?

yeah..but I have heard mix reviews about them..and when you net her she may give birth in the net..

but if you do place them in a other tank make sure to cover the intake tube or buy a sponge filter..

Baby platies are so cute! The tropical tank I used to have was larger, and I didn't even know they were in there until I accidentally saw 2 of them one day. The problem is that if you try to net them its almost impossible without destroying your decorations, they are as fast as lightning!
