biggrin.gif krazy.gif biggrin.gif krazy.gif biggrin.gif krazy.gif biggrin.gif krazy.gif biggrin.gif krazy.gif biggrin.gif

so here's my photo entry... (sorry the pictures are fuzzy i took them with my cell phone. i was too excited to pull out the camera... had to open the packages quick before they disappeared.)

so here are the three boxes that were left outside my door yesterday.
that in the background is a seat we took outta our van. smile.gif

smallest package first...

the contents of the first package consist of: melafix, 2 small mag-floats, 1 medium mag-float, 2 syringes, 1 packet of 3 filter media bags, a veggie clip, and i forgot to put it in the picture, but a 2 liter bucket of matrix biological filter media.

second package...

OoOoOo... *druel*
second package has the eheim professionel 3e you can read all about it here

YUM YUM YUM!!! i get excited over filters!

last package...

oh what goodies does this one contain??
oOoOoO... two eheim classic 2217's. niiiice.

so there my friends are my goodies that i spurged on to finally set up my two 55's that i got forever and a day ago!

i can't wait! now i just need to find someone to help me move my tanks onto my stand. unsure.gif

hi-d
smilie_staub.gif ooooo new stufff !!!!! christmas day at tinks house !!!!!!!
claire_uk
ooo I love deliveries like that, even when you know what is in them!
Have fun setting up the new tank, keep us updated!
thoughtsofjoy
Omigosh, I'm so jealous! Good luck with it all; have fun!
Petperson04
Wow, I looked at the info on the Eheim 3e..... Thud.gif That blows my little HOB filter outta the water!!! What an awesome filter.... very cool that it has the touchpad controls. biggrin.gif

Goody goody for you! smilie_staub.gif

One question- what are those mag-float things? What are they for/what do they do?

Edit: I looked up the mag-floats, and they sound really neat! Much better for cleaning algae than a scrub-brush. Aren't you the lucky duck, getting all the fancy supplies! LOL smile.gif
Tinkokeshi
haha it is my one BIG purchase of the year. biggrin.gif

haha last year it was the lighting fixture on my 72 gal, the bowfront stand, 2 HOB's and the wet/dry eheim under it. biggrin.gif

this year i've upgraded. HAHAHA.

so i'm finishing up my PBnJ and then i'm going to figure out why my power center thing isn't working right, and then set up all the new goodies!

i'll update with pictures every so often. heartpump.gif
Smilingfish
Too cute! Nothing like new stuff for the tanks to brighten up one's day. Enjoy! purpban.gif

haha yeah that's why i got it! i remember you saying your veggie clip doesn't sink to the bottom... and the clown fish one i got doesn't suck very well and falls to the bottom. sad.gif
me and my stubby arms don't reach the bottom of the tank that well. tongue.gif so i upgraded to a cheaper more efficient veggie clip!

mm hmm i was looking at the different filters that BigAl's had on sale, and it happened to be one of them. for the most part i was just looking for a canister that a really high water turnover rate since most of them are great filters but don't have high GPH turnovers. this one was reaaaaly nice about that, so i figured hmm buy it now and then i won't have to worry about upgrading my filters later. biggrin.gif

i'll let you know how well it works. biggrin.gif

i have an old school version of the mag-float haha the one that doesn't float, and i must say this is MUCH nicer. again i have problems reaching things on the bottom of the tank if they fall so this floaty business is GREAT!

the thing though is if the algae is really caked on there you'll have to use a scraping blade and get it off first... the mag-floats are great about preventing build up of new algae but you've gotta do it once a week before it really gets a hold. smile.gif
taksan
Watch that 2078 ...they only do 700 liters per hour out of the box you need to take them off auto and put them on full power manual control to get the best out of them.

hmm thanks for the heads up. biggrin.gif very much appreciated.
i have it running on max output, but i'll switch it over to manual right after i eat. smile.gif

so i got my bottom 55 set up today.
sharkbait is in the new home with the old emperor 280 and the penguin 350 running on it.
i cleaned out the filters of the goo on the bio balls and filter pads but left a bit of gunk on there to get things started.
the mopani wood is also in there with a couple of white rocks on the bottom.

i set the other 55 on the top of the stand and got started on one of the 2217 classics and got that set up.
then i figured since i took the penguin 350 off the goldie tank, i'd better get the 3e up and running first so they don't die. unsure.gif
so i just got the mammoth filter up and running and i'm tired now so... although i've been taking some pictures here and there of the process...
they won't be posted till maybe tomorrow or wednesday depending on if i can get the other 55 set up tomorrow after work.

as for now... it's time to eat pizza!
if anyone likes papa johns, they've got a promotion goin' on till tomorrow for a 3 topping large pizza for $10.40..
the code is 1040PJ biggrin.gif

okie dokes... so that's what's "new" for today! heartpump.gif
Tinkokeshi
ok so since i told y'all i'd post pictures, here are the first set of my "partial" 55 set ups.

these pictures are somewhat big.. so it may take a while to load depending on your connection.

here goes! (the "fish room" is a mess by the way. hahaha. sorry.gif )

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
opening up the professionel 3e
sorry this picture is a bit fuzzy... i didn't realize at the time.
top view. (drools... new filters are so HOT!!!)
this is what the first blue foamy layer looks like...
then this...
then white foamy layer...
then 4 media trays which apparently hold about 6L of media i think (i didn't realize and only had 4L prepared... sad.gif
i'll have pictures of it up and running (which it already is but i didn't take pictures) later... this thing is a mammoth filter by the way!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ok so now the first of the two 55's... this is the one on the bottom of the double 55 gal stand... it's for the pleco and possibly community tropical tank.

filling 'er up!

added the mopani wood after it was about 1/3 full...

here's sharkbait in his new home. i had a 10 1/2" fine mesh net, and still he had a hard time fitting in it. sad.gif
and yes he did freak a bit when i was walking across the room, which then made me freak a bit, but i didn't drop him.
but i think some of the fins are just a little bit frayed cuz they did get stuck i the fine mesh.
the frays aren't really noticable though. and he was barely stuck just the tips of his fins caught a bit. anyway...
here's the pic... biggrin.gif

top view of sharkbait in his new home...

i took this picture before i set the other 55 gal on top.

here's what it looks like almost full i will probably top off the water later since it'll need to be changed in a bit since the mopani wood is still leaching tannins a little bit...

one of the classics sort of not really finished being set up with the top 55 which will be for my "slower swimming" goldies...

close up of the 2217 classic... (took me a while to figure out how to open it... apparently you just pull up! biggrin.gif)

sharkbait decided to move, so i took another picture of him...

and last picture for the time being... biggrin.gif hehe here's an up close sharkbait's two pronged barbel... weird huh? it only does this on his right side. blink.gif

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ok sorry about the horribly long photo post.
if it's too much, next time tell me to "shorten" it... hehe i'll weed out more pictures. biggrin.gif
i'll take pictures again probably later this week when i get the top one set up with the two canisters (which may take a while cuz i need to pull some media from the wet dry on the 72 to put into the new canisters.)
then i'll move my goldies and get pictures of the two smaller ones in their new home... etc, etc, etc.
hope y'all enjoyed!
p.s. just FYI (this may be too much info for you guys) but crouching all day working on filters, and lifting and setting heavy objects up and down all afternoon will make your butt cheeks sore. tongue.gif so ladies... if you have a handy man, ask him to kindly do the lifting so they can have the sore butt cheeks. rofl3.gif
Instead, I would recommend asking your man to give you a massage to ease the weary and tender muscles. That should be easily offered, delightfully accepted, and a win-win situation. yeah.gif
Just a bit of kindly advice you know. rolleyes.gif
Too much information...
Anyway, your tanks are SUPER!!!!!!!!
Why don't I have those tanks...... (green with envy...)
Tinkokeshi
haha that's funny anette... i had mentioned it was too much information too... tongue.gif
but he apparently meant it as additional advice to all the ladies out there that i had given advice to. so no... he is not telling the world that i should ask him for a massage. rolleyes.gif
silly daniel. wub.gif
Too much information...
Oh My! How embarrassing!
My innocent recommendation has been misconstrued. unsure.gif
I was not making a direct offer to HsiHou, my silly Swedish friend.
I was merely offering an alternative strategy to those same ladies whom HsiHou was addressing when she said "so ladies... if you have a handy man..." - an alternative to having their men squat and lift.
However, this...
OldHag
Well, we all know who's giving massage to who, no need to be shy!
Anyway, I'll have a talk with my hubby...
Tinkokeshi
rofl3.gif i WISH i could get a good massage! blush.gif
too bad my tofu man is a good state away. unsure.gif
OldHag
I hope you will solve that problem soon, in one or another way.
Tinkokeshi
ok, so here's the final set of "setup" pictures for the time being. smile.gif
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

here's the top 55 with my 3 smallest goldfish babies in it.

here's the other canister filter on the left side...

a picture of top and bottom... as you can see the mopani wood is still leaching. sad.gif
looks like green tea water and smells like woody, lake water..

the water looks a lot darker than it is, i think because i don't have any lights on these tanks.

and sharkbait from afar...

and sharkbait closer up... i'm so happy he's in the new tank. he looks much more happy and not so much scrunched! biggrin.gif
thoughtsofjoy
Haha, your little goldfish look lost in that big tank! They're gonna grow HUUUUGE.
