Full Version: Albino Clawed Frog & Goldfish? Do They Mix?
Forum > The Goldfish Topics > Types of goldfish > Compatible Fish

I bought 2 Albino Clawed Frogs and put them in my 10 gallon along with some new plants that I bought. Can I put/mix the 2 frogs with the goldfish? Do you think my goldfish will try to eat them? They are about an inch long each.

Here is a YouTube video of someone else's Albino Clawed Frogs that I found and they have them with goldfish.

lol your fish look like they are saying ..what the heck did she get now for pete sake !!!!! rofl3.gif I don't think they can house together I heard the frogs get rather large and might try and eat smaller fish ..not sure ..I always laugh when i see them ..they look like sea monkies..sorry I thought they were your fish !!!!!....your fish will do the same though !!!!
koko
Not wise to have them together, they need different requirements than goldfish plus they do have claws on them which can harm the goldfish sad.gif

Hmmmm.... Looks like the frogs will have a nice home in the QT tank and get moved when I have a sick fish.

I have a clawed frog, I assume you're talking about the big guys and not dwarfs...and they will eat anything that moves!!! Years ago I tried to house mine with newts and she tried to bite their tails off. I think they'd definatly take a go at your goldies.
Ms. Melissa
Darn! As much as I like them I was thinking about returning them to the store now. I don't know if I want to have another tank set up just for frogs and then I'd have to upgrade that tank because they will grow.  sad.gif  The info I found online says they will grow to as
big as 5 or 6 inches. If I buy dwarf frogs can I put them with goldfish?  unsure.gif

Ms. Melissa
Oh yes!!! I did get your PM!!! Sorry I didn't reply yet.. I got super busy with computer work and I have to start working on my taxes! YUCK! Thank you so much for writing me back. The plants are still in the QT tank.

Yep, and here's something to make you think even more. I got my frog when I was EIGHT YEARS OLD...she's currently 18 years old and about 5 inches long. They are a big committment!! tongue.gif

I don't think ACF or ADF are a good mix with goldies.
Firstly, they are tropical and need very clean water.
ACF will grow large and can also hurt your fish ADFs stay small and are sutable for community tanks - I have them with my guppies and they leave them well alone smile.gif

If you have ACF I would suggest yu to take them back, if you have ADFs and also a tropical tank I would say move them to the tropical tank smile.gif
