Hi all,

I haven't been on here for awhile but I just picked up a couple of butterfly koi for my pond and was wondering if someone can help me identify what type of koi they are? Here's a couple pics of them in a bucket before I put them in the pond.

WOW! I love them both but that white and grey one is my favorite!!

The blue/grey/red one would be called an Asagi.

For the grey/white one my guess would be Kikokuryu, but the tiny splotch of red on the fin is throwing me off.

Yeah, i figured the blue/red one was an Asagi after looking as some pictures online, but I'm still unsure of the grey/white one.

They are beautiful fishies!! : I wish we had nice looking koi like that here.

Maybe a Kumonryu that is still to develop its true coloration?

Not matsuba because it does not look to be metallic at least not on my screen and it's also armor scaled.

It's a nice pond fish, and some are beyond identification. The armor scales makes it difficult to id as well. Could even be an armor scaled kujaku with the orange. I lean towards the kikokuryu as well.

they look like they could jsut take off in flight
