I just added two spotted cory catfish to my male bettas tank this weekend. They love each other so that is not the problem. I have been feeding them algae wafers which tend to mess up my water in a couple days. I tend to have an overgrowth of algae anyway. Someone mentioned carnavoire pellets.Any solutions guys

Have you tried breaking the wafers into smaller pieces?
Other than algae wafers I would say some sinking "meat" pellets would be a good diet. However corries aren't picky, you can feed them just about anything.

I feed my cories shrimp pellets. You can get them at most lfs, mine even have a cory on the package. They can be messy, but my cories devour them and don't leave any scraps.

Thnks Guys for the advice. I did try breaking the wafers into halfs and even fourths but it still algaed my tank.I looked at Wally*world last night and found some shrimp pellets but the container was so huge I would not be able to use it all in three years- I have two cories in with a betta. I spoke to one of the employees of the store I got the cories from and they said they feed them tropical flakes and just make sure they press the flakes down to the bottom of the tank so the cories get them. they had the cories in with other fish in the tank at the store so that is whey the tropical flakes. I got a couple packs of tropical flakes with my previous tank and the new one. So I fed them that last night. I put a big pinch in the water and the filter makes it float to the bottom. They went over and devoured the flakes. My betta eats pellets and is not interested in the flakes so all is well

That's good news. My cories eat a lot of flakes and pellets that sink to the bottom of the tank as well.

Definatly the same container I have, it's huge!!! I have 4 cories and have barely made a dent in it. I put some in my goldie gel food just to use it up.
