How long is it going to take because my ryukin is messing up my orandas tail and what should i do to heal her tail?
daryl
Fish can and will exhibit breeding behaviors for much of the spring/summer. On and off for months. If you have a particularly aggressive male in a tank with a female, she may never be given a chance to rest and heal - at least for a long time. I suggest that you separate them.

The best thing to heal a torn tail/fins is to simply give the fish pristine water and time. Some of the most horrendous wounds and shredded or gone fins will heal and regrow given time and clean living. I have some fish that were missing so much tail from aggressive breeding activity that their original owner had given up on them ever looking reasonable again. They have regrown - and are ready for the show tank.

Separate the sexes and give clean water, good food and some time.

So your saying seperate them and let the female heal
daryl
That is what I would do. She may or may not drop eggs - but when she does, simply clean the tank up and all will be fine. What size is your tank? What filtration do you have?

I don't know my uncle got the tank for me o.o

Is their anyway to stop the breeding except for the removing?
daryl
Not really - 'tis the nature of the beast.

If you keep your water even temp, even everything all year round, you may or may not get the females to limit their productivity.......
