Hi. This is my first post on the board and the first time I have kept fish.

Just set up a new 10 gal tank, following all the good advice I got from reading here. Put in 2 Pearlscale GF yesterday. I know 10 gal should only have 1, but I'll get a larger tank as they grow :-)

Wow are they active! Feeding them pellets, just thought a small feed on the first day would make sure they got off to a good start. 6 each. They went crazy for it. Looked like they had not been fed for a month, and practically took the food from our hands.

OK, the problem. One fish called plaa, (FISH) my wife is Thai :-) is very placid whilst the other called Plaa Duay (ALSO FISH) is very agressive. The agressive one gets all the food before it has sunk to the bottom, leaving the placid one sifting through the gravel. I have tried penning the agressive one in the corner with a net, whilst feeding the placid one, but the dummy seems not to be able to see the pellets sinking through the water, even if they are right in front of it, and just follows them down sifting around on the floor again. Needless to say the agreesive one then breaks free and gets the lot.

Just worried poor Plaa will never get enough to eat.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Syd, welcome to our great board, first of all! wav.gif
Here in the US they sell cheap plastic baskets in the Dollar Stores, they float, have holes, and in such a basket you can put the aggressive fish while the other one takes his time to get to the food. That way you can be sure the shy one gets enough food before the other one gobbles up everything....
You also could try feeding them in opposite sites of the tank, but I can imagine the aggressive fish figures that one out too...smile.gif
