The other day I went to my local goldfish importer and they were so happen to be harvesting their top grade ranchu for their store. I noticed two ranchu with Red caps and asked if I could purchase them. Being good friends with them, they gave me the two I selected and said they are very rare in Australia. They said in a year they probably receive about 10 red cap ranchus and only a few are worth growing on.

I actually saw several redcap ranchus for sale on eBay yesterday. Maybe they're becoming more common?
If you're interested, go to the Tropical Fish section of Pet Supplies on eBay and search for "Goldfish." You'll see the redcap ranchus and MANY MORE!

Most red cap so called ranchus ive seen are actually red cap lion heads...

Yeah, I recently acquired a male/female pair of Red Cap Lionheads - definately a very distinctive goldfish, not seen any Red Cap Ranchu though

Dan, his in Market City in China Town. You might know him. His name is Tao. Many fellow Goldfish hobbyists in Australia purchase from him.
Im going to be purchasing some nice small black Butterflies, black oranda and big crown pearlscales from him tomorrow. ALso his getting in some nice black ranchu.

Andrea, he got no store. He got like 4 fishtanks with goldfish for hobby and to sell. He operates from home with green water

Yes i read about him in Australian Aquarium Keeper magazine. Hmmmm getting ideas may have to ring Mr.Tao lol
