so after much research and people on the board teasing me with cute pics of their boggly eyed celestials I decided I want one ..but only if I can get it's own tank ..i'll have to really wear down the hubby ..but my birthday is coming ..it's not like I ask for diamonds..a cool chick would ask for a fish..and tank..so thats my line I'll just put on my bambi eye's ..and everything shall fall into place.. yeah.gif is there anything else I need to know about celestials ? is it better to use certain lighting so it's not so hard on their eyes ? I'm open to any suggestions.

Yes, make sure everything is blunt, not sharp. I was thinking of when you'd finally crack to the whims of the celestial biggrin.gif

I have a few nippy fish ,thats why it's essential that he gets his own tank and I already have a couple spots picked out so he has company all day..those funny little faces always cheer me up biggrin.gif

I think you have covered the bases pretty well. I have found that BubbleEyes, Celestials and, to a lesser degree, Frogheads tend to be a bit more sensitive to ammonia/nitrites. It can be a bit more difficult healing a sick BubbleEye. Celestials seem to have a propensity to getting eye infections - whether from "sharp" objects or whatever.

I would recommend you make sure your tank is nicely cycled and ready to go before adding the fish. Then, ENJOY! I really enjoy my Celestial Dobbie's little funny face in my kitchen - and as I cook, she benefits from the trims of the garden veggies. She is a great "garbage disposal" for lettuce, broccoli, spinach, etc. They are charming fish - not too active, but ever so inquisitive! smile.gif
