My male crowntail betta came to me with terrible fungus & finrot. He has been well now for over a month, eating well, looks beautiful except several of his fins were partially lost to the finrot. Will they grow back?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, it depends on how damaged the fins are, if they are cut off close to its body (or where its fin is attached) then most likely they wouldnt grow back, but if its at like the end of its fin it should grow back well within a few months with good care. It depends on how damaged the vains are.
hope your fish gets better!

Thanks! Here's a pic of my sweet sparky. Couldn't get him to flare but this was taken probably a week ago.
His damaged fins are the two on the bottom as you can probably tell.

I had a betta which had finrot when I got him. His fins did grow back quite a bit, but not fully. Clean water and a bit of melafix (half-dose) should encourage regrowth.

He was treated with Fungus Clear & maracyn which cleared him up nicely. Would it be necessary to add the melafix to encourage regrowth?

melafix should help the regrowth but the main thing is to keep the water clean

CTs tend to never look the same as before but yours isn't a bad case at all! Hopefully he gains at least half the length back. As stated by others, keep your water nice and clean.
