Is it bad for the fish, if i give them food that's just got out from the freezer???
i gave the goldfish a small piece of frozen corn, and it just swallow it whole... so i was just wondering if it was bad for the fish.
Or like if i wanna froze some food in an ice cube, and let the goldfish play with it??

don't feed your fish whole peas and such they could choke I feed my fish frozen thawed peas unsalted of course then I remove the skins and i break it into small peices for them. fish also like bananas I usually break a large peice throw it into te tank and let them pick at it .right now I have kiwi in a veggi clip (without tiny black seeds) and there loving it...

I feed my fish frozen cubes all the time, -I'm not so sure a whole kernel of corn is good for your goldy though, although they have teeth they cant really chew the tough shell on the outside, I buy stuff called "vegie diet", it's like a blended mix of greens, duckweed/peas etc, and it comes in a 'chocky block' that I can break off cubes. -I just chuck the whole thing in frozen and the fish chse it round, -once it's in the water it defrosts pretty quickly.

I know this is off topic but in response to Heidi's post, -I suggest only feeding your fish banana very sparingly, it is a high sugar fruit and goldfish don't need all that sugar, it's difficult for them to digest and doesn't do their organs very much good. -Kiwifruit however is good as it is packed with Vit C which is important for a goldfish's diet. (often their diet is lacking in Vit C if they are mainly fed flakes/pellets that have been opened for a couple of months... (my twocents.gif )
Chickey
I have often wondered if others worry about seeds. I take all the small shriveled seeds out of my lemon slices before I put them in the tank. I know some people here feed Zucchini and other seeded veggies.. Do you take the seed out? How about cucumber ? that has lots of seeds.

I worry about seeds I asume because their hard on a person to digest that it may be hard on them .I cut my seeded veggies or fruit length ways ,leaving the center where the seeds are to throw out ,that way I don't have to try and pick out seeds smile.gif

hmm, ya it left the outer part of the corn and ate the inside. haha

but it wont be too cold for the fish to eat a small frozen food??
would it damage their stomache to have cold stuff inside there??
and damage their mouth for sucking the ice cube??
