I have some silk plants that I've had trouble with floating to the top. I put them in small glass votives and sealed them with clear silicone that is aquarium safe. They have to cure for 48 hours, but I can smell the sealant.

I'm worried about whether they will be safe to put back into the tank. The tube says it is for aquarium use, both inside and out. I don't want to kill Moby and Florence over a couple of plants.

I would soak the plants in a bucket of water for a few days, until all the fumes are released.

When i resealed one of my tanks the smell went away in about a week..so i would wait for a week..
