title says it all. I have a 5 gallon with a betta some fake plants smooth rocks and heater and the filter I have now 1. I hate it 2. it keeps going out its a Small World Filter
Penn Plax
http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod/21 ... roduct.web and for some reason it stops working the air pump is working its just not getting air through the filter my husband can blow in it and it works for a week or so then goes out again.
I have a Wishper internal filter with flow control that came with this tank its one of those bow front tanks from nnnnnn. I have tried that one but I think it messes with his fins I had that filter and regular gravel in the tank and the filter on low and his fins always got torn since I have not used that filter or rocks his fins are fine. Should I try the filter agian and see what happens ? or is there a better filter for bettas. whats the brand specs and where to find please. When I used the wishper filter I did put a stocking on the intank part so the fins wouldnt get caught
Thanks in advance.

I like the little Azoo palm filter I got my betta. It's cheap and has worked well, and doesn't generate too much current for him.

Those are it. I ordered the foster smith one, it came with an insert that lasts practically forever in a little betta tank.

Is it a hex? If it isn't then I would go with the whisper 10 or the penguin 20.

I got the whisper 10 for my 5.5 gallon betta tank because of the adjustable flow.

The whisper 3i is the filter I used for a long time before the LFS stopped selling the bags on a regular basis. I never had any problems with it.

I <3 your tank Daniel, but how do you go 'topless' without the betta jumping out?

I think both my bettas have had too much fin to get far out of the water. Neither one jumpers.

You are lucky, I have had bettas jump out of the smallest holes on tank hoods before. I had one that as I was walking by I heard a littlesplish and a tiny thump on the floor. I looked down and there he was, and he had jumped out of a hole about a quarter inch square.
