with so much information that's shared here on koko's, I think we all can become "experts" biggrin.gif That said though, there's always something new to learn everyday..

I think a demekin is a cross with a ryukin (I'm no expert though, correct me if I'm wrong anyone!)

The black fish in my siggy is my demekin. His back is very high, not like any other moore I've had in the past.

Hmm...Ive always thought Black Mors had conicular eyes while telescopes had sphereical eyes?

Wow, I didn't know I didn't know. blink.gif
Reason I asked it that of the two lfs we frequent each called what looks to be the same black fish by differing names-telescope & moor. So it is to reason that the arched back of black fish would have the breeding of ryukin? So that is considered demekin? Moors/telescopes tend to have the straighten back?
So intrigued that I probably should get a life! yeah.gif

The Japanes slang word "deme" means "pop eye". "Kin" of course is short for Kingyo which means goldfish in Japanese. So Demekin means pop eye goldfish and in Japan it is a very broad term used to describe any fish with those eyes. I always believe that it was the same in the US. Shamu recently told me that the word demekin in the US specifically means a ryukin telescope.
