I have always fed my goldies Birdseye brand frozen peas because it has no added ingredients like salt and sugar. I got two brands of organic peas and I just noticed one lists "trace of salt" & the other "salt" in the ingredients. Are either one safe for goldies or should I stick to 100% pure peas like Birdseye?

i think it might be best to stay with the pure peas wink.gif but let's wait on other members' opinions too biggrin.gif

I would stick with the unsalted. Why take the chance? blink.gif
It's not worth the risk. The fishies are too important!! exactly.gif
(How are they doing, by the way? smile.gif )

Hey I have been finding the boys canned peas for 6 months. With no bad results. However have changed to frozen.

I think that was a very smart move Carebear as canned peas have a lot of added junk. smile.gif

I think Debbie is right, why take the chance. It's not like it's going to be wasted as I'll just eat it. biggrin.gif

I would like to hear from someone who knows for a fact whether it is actually harmless/harmful for goldies. I fed my goldie the peas with the trace of salt last night before seeing the ingredients, but I will not feed them those anymore until I hear from someone that it is safe.

They are doing very well, Debbie. As a matter of fact, Jack & Sosh will be moving to the 50 gallon today with Moby. smile.gif I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Jack will be fine. unsure.gif

That's wonderful news, JoH! biggrin.gif I'm sure Jack will be fine. We're still waiting for pictures!! Now you'll HAVE to get some pictures up! The boys in their new home!! How exciting!! exactly.gif

I posted on another site and they basically said the same thing; that they would not take the risk and to rinse it before feeding.

BTW, Heidi, ornanics have their downsides too. In lieu of the pesticides, you have a much higher chance of some bacteria in an organic food. Pick your poison.
