I put my betta in with my 4 goldfish thinking it would work I was wrong and your most likely thinking it's the betta but the betta isn't the problem my goldfish have been harrasing him all day they've split his fins. I'm getting ready to put him bach in his own area but can any one tell me why this happened?

A male betta's fins are very long and goldies will tend to nip at it and rip it appart. A male betta should be housed on it's own in a 2GAL+ bowl or tank. Do not try to put it with another male betta or a female, otherwise you will end up with dead fish. =(

they are correct. besides the personlilty problem, bettas do not do well in cooler water. It could catch disease quicker like fungus at lower temps
