55 gal tank pebbles in the bottom, going to add river rocks to make more dens for the bottom feeder...when he arrives.
What plants should I add. I have 4ft fluorescent strip. normally on all day.
I'd like the easiest to keep. What parameters should I check before buying?

I would find low light plants and then just experement to see what your fish dont eat. Ill be sending out more waterstar in the spring that does really good in all of my tanks but does not grow as fast in the low lights has smaller leaves and is a little more green.
Also thick leaved plants seem to do well in my gf tanks. Good luck.

If you chose live plants, make sure not to chose ones that are poisonous, or they might kill your fish. Here is a list of the safe ones, Easy to take care of:
THE JAVA FERN - this can thrive in dim and bright light
APONOGETON UNDULATUS - thrives well in almost any normal aquarium
ANACHARIS DENSA - this can even grow in hard water
HYGROPHILA POLYSPERMA - tolerates cool temp.
Good luck.

anacharis is a very hardy plant. I have one, and it has grown huge. It has about 3 new stems from it. I dont have a light, and it is doing well. They would thrive with a light.

my goldies keep eating mine so i just
grow it with my fish frys
it not only oxygenate the water
but also absorbs the excess nutrients from the food
which gradually pollute the water
sort of hit the two bird with the one stone
