I want to get some ghost shrimp so that they can clean the bottom of my platy fry tank and eat up the leftovers on the bottom. However, I have some questions:
Will the Ghost Shrimp eat the fry?
Will the Ghost Shrimp eat my peppered cories (Two) that are also in there?
Will the fry eat the Shrimp?
Will the Cories eat the Shrimp?

i am not sure about most of your questions, but i use to have ghost shrimp in my tropical tank, and they disappeared one by one... i think they get eaten by the fish when they moult or whatever it's called when they change shells. they do a good job of scavenging bits and pieces of food though.

and i think it's the coolest thing to watch cuz you can SEE the food being eaten. haha.

yes the ghost shrimp can eat the fry if it's to small, and yes sometime those fish and annoy the heck out of the ghost shrimp but then they pretty much leave each other alone and yes all my past ghost shrimp mysteriously disapear without no little trace behide, no woner why they call it ghost shrimp. It's funny because it's always seem like they disapear 2 or 3 days after they change thier shell or w/e lol
Why not try cherry shrimp or something lol, you barely can see your ghost shrimp.......there is a reason why they call it ghost shrimp, they seem to be inviasble most of the time even when it's right in frotn of my eyes.

Did you know that ghost shrimp turn white/pink (like the cooked shrimp people eat) when they die? So weird.

i adore my ghost shrimp, Ponderosa.
my aunt makes a game out of finding him whenever her and her little son come over to visit..
he hasn't really bothered my fish or they haven't him [knock on wood] but he hides most of the time and is still quite small...
they're really good entertainment lol they love to swim up the sides of the tank and all around, it's pretty fantastic.

Hey kets, why not buy like corys to eat the left over ar stuff at bottom, shrimp wont be able to eat as much, and you have to have plants in there.

I had a huge breeding colony of ghosties. They can be VERY aggressive and can kill larger fish.I know for a fact they could catch some fry! However if the shrimp can fit in the mouth of a fish, then they become the meal.Ghosties really aren't them best community shrimp. Try amano shrimp.
