Thats a beautiful common, but man...STARTING bid at $39???? blink.gif I guess people do pay that and even more for fish, but that'd be out of my price range for sure. Gorgeous fish, though. heartpump.gif
Kets
Er, if he's calico, wouldnt that make him a London Shubunkin?
Kristi
Oh, he's gorgeous--I really like that. If I had a pond I would be buying that guy! smile.gif

I have seen those fish being offered on ebay before. To me I think that they are hybrid fish being a cross betwen a koi and commet goldfish. I wonder if that color is stable over time
Trinket
That's a beautiful combination of yellow and white.
(And I love the panda oranda above too heartpump.gif )

I have seen cross between koi and goldfish, and those things were just plain ugly. Not in color, but that hybrid had a very strange, and not appealing, shape at all.

Kimmikoi always has a nice selection of somewhat different fish, and also higher quality goldfish, and for a coloration like that in a goldfish, the price is actually okay. I just wonder if the yellow wouldn't darken over time, if the goldfish would be in a pond, and exposed to sunlight and algae.

I have seen pictures of yellow goldfish on line, and I just happen to love the color. According to "Wikipedia" the yellow is actually easier to breed than the orange, but early on in China (where the goldfish was first domesticated,) common people were not allowed to keep the yellow ones because it is an imperial color. So that's their explanation why the yellow is harder to come by. In any case, I would love to have some of these beauties.
