hey everyone!
I've searched the forums and haven't found this posted yet, thought it would be fun! If i posted this in the wrong forum, im sorry, plse feel free to move it.
Post some pics of your tank(s), and show off your creations. Don't forget to post whats in there, filters you use, decorations, heaters, and such oh yeah and dont forget about your pretty goldie babies.
Right now, my tanks are bare bottom with nothing in them, im trying to get some great ideas. Thought this would be a good "show your tank off thread"
Thanks to all who post pics!

This is my Goldfish tank. River rocks. Wood for the BN to chew on and shells to off set the wood. The bowl is to show how goldfish could never really live in one of those. I have five goldfish in it. Three filters. Two HOB and I have a Canister filter a Rena pro 3. I have a total of 1050 gph turn over. I have one heater but it rarely comes on.

I have other tanks but they belong in the planted tank area.

I recently did an Extreme Tank Makeover. I learned here at koko's that hollow ornaments can be harmfull. I removed the "Oriental shack" that I had in there and I added the "Greek ruins." I also put my plants in little glass votive dishes.

I have changed my tank style a lot since I joined Kokos. I had a lot of gravel and some ornaments earlier.
Now I have a bare look, a lot easier to keep clean and gives more space. So now my tanks looks like this:
Bigger tank:

Smaller tank:

Not so exciting!

lol you all must scrub and scrub. I like my algae so leave it on the sides, back, rocks, bowl, ect... Only place I ever clean it off of is the front. Algae (not to much) is a sign of a healthy tank and it gives my BN Pleco's something to do.

I will admit, i scrub the front of my tank, just so it looks pretty, i leave everything else though. Im lazy,

im not going to clean EVERYTHING. Plus, im still cycling my tank, so i figure i;d be better to leave the slim coat on everything.

Here's a pic I just snapped of my tank (sorry it's blurry, I didn't use a flash).
Click to view attachmentIt's a 30 gal with an Aquaclear 50 and a Penguine biowheel (can't remember the model, it's made for 30-40 gallons I think). The two Aztec type ornaments in on the right are hollow. I just finished drilling holes in them and I have a new airpump and tubing on the way to turn them into bubblers this week

I recently replaced the gravel with small riverstones and put the plants in pots, I think it looks much nicer now. I also recently removed the background and am letting it get covered with algae, unfortunatly it just makes the tank look kind of scummy when I take pics

The basket is for my lionhead Elaine who can't swim anymore, that's her 'hospital room'

Here's mine. After my comet, Newbie, hurt his tail on my plastic plants I switched to silk ones. I also added the bubble stick, they LOVE that, and some clear glass rocks.

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q8/Crit...eepr/tank-1.jpgThis is my 20g goldy tank. It has an Emperor 280 biowheel power filter, heater, airstone, silk plant and large pebbles/river rocks. Since switching to barebottom, I love it so much i won't go back to gravel bottom for my goldies! I keep just a couple handfuls of rocks on the bottom so they can entertain themselves, rooting around in it for food.

your background!!!! SOOOO FUN!!! Clown fish are so cool! Wish i had the time for saltwater ~sighs~ Great set up

Here are my tanks...
This is my 20gal... it has a bubble wand on the side now, a new background, and I upgraded the little balinese lantern into a larger one. I was going for a dragon attacking the village theme (village being one tiny hut/lantern, lol). I'm thinking of taking out the gravel on the dragon side and replacing it with river pebbles.

This is my 30 gallon tropical tank. It still needs some work, more taller plants in the back, and maybe a background
Shari Lynn
Jan 28 2008, 07:35 PM
WOOOO! your dragon is toooo cool!

saw that at the local Pet*mart, looked at it...tempting...held it...looked at it some more...and thought..."###### i dont need another figure in my tank" LOL That tank has an awsome set up though. Looks like the dragon is going to tramp all over your little hut! Great stuff!!!!
Hey...on the side note...did you get me comment about your fish looking for a home?!? Do you have a pic of them i can send to my dad?

I just redid my tank last weekend & guess what? I got the Greek Roman Ruins going too.
When I finish with the tank set up, I'll post it. I want to add at least one other live plant (thinking anubia) & a smaller ruin for the far left side of the tank. I bought the "Hail Mary" sized ruin for the right/center. It looks like welcome to my ruins, and "oh, you have fish too?"

Darryl,
Your tank is so beautiful!!! I am going to set up my bubble wall this wkend. I see that you have ?suction cups? to keep the air tubing in check. Are these suction cups made for the tubing specifically, or are they just ordinary ones? Also, do you mind telling me how you did this? I don't even know how to set up my airpump or anything!!!

setting up an airpump is easy. If u have a check valve then u can set it on the ground or in the stand. U connect airline tubing to the pump and the airstone, then u set the airstone in the water and turn it on!
Nickie
Feb 1 2008, 11:30 AM
But where does the check valve go?
Shamu23
Feb 1 2008, 11:32 AM
I dont use any check valves (although I probably should) but I think u can cut the airline tubing near the airpump and then put the check valve in there and put the airline tubing on each end of it.

They're really a necessity when you have water and electricity so close together.
