Well, while looking at my tanks last night, I found these guys that had come from a gold mollie. I think she either had her first batch, or a lot got eaten, as there are only three

Oh yes, and they're there in there till I can get a breeding net for them to live in until they grow big enough to not be eaten. I Am sooooo proud of this first, tiny, but awesome batch of babies!

Congrats on your first mollie babies. Have you checked the filter for more? Sometimes the fry get sucked up and hang out under all the media eating the scraps of food that make it into the filter.

Yep, I did check the filter, besides I have a net over it so hopefully none get sucked up.

That's so cool--I wish my platies would have had babies but never did. Sometime I'm going to buy an obviously pregnant platy or guppy just so I can raise little ones!! Congrats!

I have some platys, and one of them gave birth to at least 23 healthy babies

.
There is something I have been wondering...I heard that you can breed Mollies and Guppies together and get fertile offspring? Has anyone tried this?

No, you can't breed those two together. They are different species and it would not work.

They can and will breed, but I strongly discourage you from trying. It's a mess, IF they have babies, IF they survive at all, they will have tons of genetic defects, and they will be infertile (like mules when you cross a horse and donkey). It's kind of a mad scientist thing to do if you ask me.
