love-rabbit-fish
oh my gosh Nickie!! Thud.gif he is absolutely jaw dropping!! gorgeous! i say go for that guy, thumbs.gif wow heartpump.gif

have you found out about the shipping Nickie? i was thinking of getting a betta myself, possibly one from that breeder, but i'm worried about that the shipping might make it out of my price range unsure.gif
Nickie
I was thinking of e-mail Vinetta and asking her what the total shipping would be before I bid on it. She has a nice orange one, too, that is simply beautiful! I will post the link to him, too.

those defianently r gorgeous!!!! But wouldnt u rather rescue a betta from a dreaded cup from pet***smart?
Nickie
Like I said before, usually those poor bettas are beyond saving w/out meds. I don't have the money for a lot of meds right now. I would love to save a betta from a cup, but would also like a betta that is healthy and will actually live for me. I have so much going on with trying to cycle my big tank, my kids, this new house, money issues...I don't think I could handle a sick fish that needs attention all the time, too. Then, it will prolly die and I am left w/out a betta. However, JUST FOR YOU, SHAMU, I will rescue a betta instead of ordering one. But only because I love you!!! heartpump.gif LOL!!!

However, remember this, as long as we keep BUYING those bettas in the dredded cups, they will keep selling them in those cups!!!
love-rabbit-fish
They are all so beautiful!

i am drooling (*wiping drool off keyboard as we speak*) over these three druel.gif

Yeah what's the deal with that. I never paid much attention to Bettas and I don't know much about them but why are they sold in cups? It seems incredibly cruel. sad.gif

They sells it in little cups, just 2 reason, because they can survive in a small space. Yes it's cruel, they can survive yes, but they dont like it, they have to fight to survive, 2nd reason is because these are fighting fish, keeping together will end up making them fight and of course they are not going to have 50 tanks for 50 bettas.
So the poor fish have to suffer. What i find cruel is sometiem people diliver these fishes in tiny bag, they can survive in small space deosn't mean they like it. We can alway trap someone in a stinky smelly toilet, they wont die right away but they wotn like it and end up getting sick and well..then die i guess.

I have no idea, Fumi, but it is cruel. I would rather buy from a reputable breeder than to put more money into a company like Pet*Smart for one when all they are gonna do is keep selling them in those cups; prolly buy more with the money I pay for one!!!

love-rabbit-fish
now in my local pet**smart, i'm starting to see these little betta containers they put into the fish tanks, they put them in long rows. Atleast the bettas can get a little air and filtration now sad.gif

awww, i wanna order a betta!!
Nickie
Me, too, An! However, as this lady always has bettas for sale on Aqua Bid, I will always have a chance to get one some day.
love-rabbit-fish
yup! i guess there will always be a chance wink.gif

but they all seem so, so.... perfect , lol

Nickie
Yes, I like the metallic color of the green. My hubby actually picked that first one out! LOL! He does have great taste when it comes to choosing fish!!!

Hmm... I don't think these bettas are always "usually... beyond saving without meds." It all depends on the store. The petstore chains where I live actually take good care of their bettas, well, as good as they can in their small containers before someone buys them to give them, hopefully, a larger home. The water is always amazingly clear and the bettas are very healthy looking (unlike Wallyworld, where about one quarter of the bettas were dead and the rest in filthy water and with shredded fins or just generally looking ill). I've bought many bettas from the pet chains and none of them have needed meds until years later when their age made them more susceptible to illness. There are a lot of beautiful bettas out there! smile.gif

Stunning betta
Nickie
There may be a lot of nice bettas in the local pet shops near you, MsAmpersand, but there aren't near me. sad.gif

The auction only runs a certain amount of days and then it ends.

Oh, Hon, Vennetta has fish for sale from her place all the time. Just look for the username "NiceFish" in the seller when you are looking at the bettas. She always has stunning fish!!! Many of them!
Shari Lynn

They are both cuties. If you are not going to breed them and only keep as pets I like both. But there are tail faults in both fish that is probably why they have not gone up in price. But if you are just keeping him for a pet that should not matter. you may want to make sure you buy your fish off there from a U. S. breeder. The ones from the fareast are great but you have to pay to have it shipped to a transhipper her in the states first and then to you ( costs extra that way) . sometimes breeders will throw in a free fish when you purchase one as a surprise
