Well I turned Heechul over and bought this gorgeous guy for $25. I tried measuring him, he is somewhere between 13 and 15 inches.
I don't have any large pieces of driftwood yet, but I threw in a large flat chunk from my other tank. It should keep him busy for the rest of the week.
Poor thing is a little beat up because he was in a tank with about 10 other large plecos.
Sorry about the messy looking tank.My stool broke and I'm too short to reach the back of the tank and very bottom to wipe the algae off.

He's beautiful! I used to have one about that size who outgrew his tank. He would eat a piece of cucumber a night easily!

Well the term "common pleco" refers to a few species, but I do believe he is one of the ones commonly associated with that term.I believe he is pterygoplichthys pardalis(L021).
He is doing really well. He zoomed all around the tank last night and cleaned nearly 2/3 of the algae off. Today I put in some zucchini but I don't think he will eat it while the lights are on.

He is beautiful!! Look how clean that tank is getting to be.

I just traded my common in last weekend; he was 6-7", too big for my 20g. I miss the big guy- he would feed out of my fingers.

Awww!
I'm hoping mine will learn to feed from my hand. It would be so easy then.
Right now he is still shy and I don't blame him.

There is a striped raphael catfish in there as well. He is very shy but comes out like a good boy to eat.

What foods do you feed him? I only feed my bristlenoses algae pellets, but with large plecos, do they need more meaty type of foods?

Right now I feed him 2 different types of algae waffers,a little bit of fish flakes, boiled zucchini, and boiled lettuce. I'm trying to hunt down some sinking pellets that are made of shrimp for him.
