Nope, for my tank. The coral is to try to get it cycled. The Penguin 350B is also for my tank. I will prolly put the Penguin 100B on the tank, too, for the time being.

do you cycle quicker with coral? what have i been missing? is it just bio media??

Coral may help you cycle if your KH is very low. A very low KH can hamper cycling. That's Nickie's situation. If that's not your issue, then coral won't help the cycle.

No, I have a high KH and I still can't cycle too well for some reason. I have added media from another tank, gravel from another tank, a bio wheel from another tank and it still wont cycle. Sorry to hijack a thread but should I be doing waterchanges more often to help cycle?

That's called regular maintenance. Wait till you get them! How long has it been?

Did you decide to use the coral as a substrate, or are you just putting it in your filters? You may need a LOT of it if you just put it in your filters. I know a lot of people say only a very small amount of coral is needed, but not in my tanks. It doesn't do anything at all to my water without it being in mass quantities. Not sure why.

I'm still working on that. There is no way that I can fit all that coral in my new filters, and I want to use their space for bio-media anyway. I guess I am going to have to decide where to put it. I really don't want it loose all over the tank. I want it contained in something. Any ideas???

A little over a month. Oh well. I can only do what I can do. The filter I went with is Tetratec 300.

Have you shared with us the rest of your parameters? Temp, pH, GH, etc? What level of KH exactly? Perhaps someone can spot something that may be a problem for cycling.
