I have 3 mystery snails that we in an infected tank, they have been removed and in their own tank for a few weeks now. What I would like to know is if I can somehow disinfect them? I'm absolutely paranoid that they are carrying disease or parasites. krazy.gif

I have PP, but that is used for killing snails... So I'm not entirely sure what to do. ]:

Helllpp.

Hi Earth! When you say 'infected,' what exacty do you mean? Parasitic or bacterial? Snails are very sensitive to alot of medications, and intolerant of salt. Can you give us more info? smile.gif

See. >_> I'm not exactly sure what the little fish had, I supsect he was sick when I got him, hence the extreme fatness... and then it just got worse when he contracted ich! So, I'm not sure what was going on inside him, but he had ich which was cured before he died.

Thanks for the help. :]

When you say "extreme fatness" did he look like he'd swallowed a gumball and did his scales poke out like a pinecone? Dropsy is the first thing that comes to mind when a sick fish is bloated.

Because of the nature of the animal it keeps water 'stored' in its shell when it is taken out of the water so that it does not dry up. There is no real way to 'disinfect' a snail, there are very few meds that are safe to use with snails as well.

Those snails ended up staying in a Qt tank up until a few days ago.

Thanks for all the help anyways, guys!
