Do all the different kinds of anubias have the same requirements? Right now I have only the regular kind but I wanted some more live plants in my tank, alos going to add a java fern.

they are very similar but unless you have 3 watts per gallon and are able to take proper care (extremely experienced with live plants) of them stay away from anubias nana 'petite'. If you have a look at my pinned thread there are alot of low light plants listed in there which would go great with goldies

I was thinking of maybe one of those with the heart shaped leaves, I did some research one them yesterday

I guess you can call me a tank interior decorator. I am a plant person; there is no turf grass in my front yard - all mulch in the flowerbeds or groundcover between the beds. Having nice plants in my tank is just as important as having healthy fish. Anubias has done best for me - leaves are long living and rarely fall off and clog the filter. I've tried other plant varieties in the past and had a lot of issue with dying/clogging. Dan's list encouraged me to try Microsorium pteropus (java fern). It has only been in the tank for two weeks, but is doing well so far. Many of the plants that are sold don't do well with standard aquarium lights and some don't even grow well underwater. My local fish store keeps plants in separate tanks and I've never had a problem with contamination.
Shamu23 - I think all of mine is Anubias barteri (round leaf variety). I assume this is the most common one and probably what you have also. Have you found a source on-line for other species?

Shamu, I got my hastifolia and gigantea on Aquabid. They both have heart shaped leaves. There are also many mail order places on the web you can look as well.

So that's a different one from regular anubias nana? Like an extra-small version? Is it more sensitive or something?
