I actually wanted to get a java fern at wallywolrd but we couldnt get anyone to help us cause none of them were in charge of the petsection so we left but at petland I found some anubias. I put it in a 1/2 gallon tank overnight, this morning I bleached it and then put it in the 125 gallon tank. I put it in a glass, with gravel in the bottom where I planted its roots in and then riverstone on top to keep the gravel away from the fish. I added some seachem flourish to the tank. Now the question is if I should get one of those tabs that u put by their roots. And I know my light is pretty low in that tank, Im hoping that it will survive, if it starts to die i'll move it to my 46 gallon.

thats pretty much good for there care, they are a very simple plant to take care of, just dont barry the big root they have only the small white roots or the plant will die sad.gif if you want more plants from this one, just cut the big root and you got 2 biggrin.gif

what do u mean not to bury the big root? Is there different roots? I guess I could take it out of the gravel if thats better.

it will actually grow better attached to a porous object such as driftwood or a clay pot, the gravel tends to suffocate the roots and the plant will die i use the seachem plant tabs and i have had significant growth while using them, they only need replacing after 6 months which i thought was an added bonus

so what if I fill the glass with riverstones and attach it to the riverstones?

Okay see in the photo, there is a big root that shoots out of the bottom w small white roots that shoot off of it. That big root cant be barried but the small white roots can, that is also the root you can cut to make other plants biggrin.gif

yeah you can have the river rocks like that for the plant, I done it that way with a terra cotta pot biggrin.gif

ok, I made some adjustments, I wrapped the small roots around a riverstone and the big root is exposed, I made it so it doesnt look any different by adding more riverstones. I'll see if I can get one of those tabs. Also another question, could the bleach make it paler? Cause before I bleached it, it was bright green, now it has like a paler green.

yes it would, but with some good nutrition it will come back and grow big biggrin.gif
